We Are All Fighting Our Own Battles

This week has been very emotional for me, as I finally began admitting to others how I have been battling slowly-worsening anxiety for about two years. FiA has definitely been one of the biggest factors in me making it this far- both the physical benefit of working out and the strong, supportive community of women I have been able to be a part of. For these reasons, I went with a Pinterest-inspired workout based on the Valkries and Shieldmaidens from Norse mythology. These women were strong warriors who lived for battle…and exactly the kind of role model I needed this week!

Warm-up:

10 Jumping Jacks

30 secs:

Butt kicks

High kneeds

Arm circles front

Arm circles backwards

Stretches

 

Round 1:

10 Squats

10 Squat Punches

10 Skaters

10 Push-Ups

30 sec. balance stand (per leg)

20 Lunge Knee-Ups

10 Defenders

10 Leg Lifts (per leg)

 

Round 2:

20 Knee-Ups

10 Lunges

10 Tuck/Star Jumps

10 Push-Ups

20 Cross Chops

10 Plank Jump-Ins

10 Shoulder Taps

 

Round 3:

Run 1 lap

 

The goal was to complete this 3 times- we only made it through Round 1 for the third circuit because this one was TOUGH! Also Mother Nature clearly doesn’t see September as the beginning of fall like I do because it was HOT. But we did it. Closed out with stretches, prayer request, & Name-o-rama.
