May the Fourth Jedi Training

We had to take advantage of May the Fourth in true nerd fashion so I brought some light sabers to get our Jedi training on. I’m not even a huge Star Wars fan but I love a themed workout so I was all over this like white on that forbidden rice! It turned out to be a pretty good workout I think. I chose tabata style so we could chat while we swung sabers. It was a great start to our day and we didn’t let the dark side win! Here’s what we did…

Warm up to Star Wars theme (not best workout music)

10 IC Arm circles front & back

10 IC crockpot squats

10 IC windmills

Jog around parking lot

 

The Thang:

Timed circuits 40 sec active/20 sec rest

We did each circuit three times with exception of omitting the Obi Wan burpees the last time through…this preggers body couldn’t manage it and I was feeling nice lol. Each move we did with our light sabers for added weight and upper body involvement – except Jedi jacks and Princess Leia Push ups.

Dark side dives (jog with burpee – evil)

Imperial walkers 

Circuit 2

Chewbacca chops

Saber squats

Hans high knees

Luke lunges

Circuit 3

Obie Wan burpees

Solo side kicks

Princess Leia push ups

Jabba jump squats

Devo was about God being about the unexpected. He does what we can’t imagine. Don’t look at that stone that’s too big in your way and lose hope – He is there to move those out of your way.
