At Red Haven (Gilbert) we meet in the student parking lot, where there are grassy medians throughout that we call “islands.” This morning we “worked the island.”
Arm Circles, forward and backward – 10 each
Good Mornings – 10
Imperial Walkers – 10 (IC)
We walked over to “The Center” to lay our mats out for an abs session at the end.
We progressed in reps at each “island,” doing these exercises: Jumping Jacks, Push-Ups, Mountain Climbers, Squats, and Jump Ropes
So for example, at the first island, we did ONE of each of the exercises. By the time we had made it all the way across the parking lot, “hoppin’ the islands,” we were up to 10 reps of each of the exercises. Then we came back, decreasing in reps at each “island,” from 10 reps back down to 1.
Back at “The Center” we did 20 standard donkey kicks, per leg, with the addition of 20 kickbacks per leg. Followed by 10 fire hydrants, per leg, with the addition of 10 diagonal leg lifts in the same table-top position, per leg. We also did a 100-series of bridges: 20 standard, 20 heel-plant wide, 20 tiptoes, 20 frogs, and 20 bridge-hold and march.
20 LBCs, 20 Penguins, 20 Bicycles, 20 Russian Twists, 20 Scissors, 20 oblique crunches (opposite elbow to opposite knee) – 10 on each side, and 10 Big-Girl Sit-ups
