Chia Pet

Amy Peacock (FiA nickname, “ChiaPet”) is a certified personal trainer and a certified ChiRunning and ChiWalking Instructor.  She is the owner of a running and preventive health and wellness resource located in Charlotte, NC.

She knows that having a focused mind during exercise, good nutrition and a supportive community is medicine for the mind, body & spirit.

Amy played soccer from age 6 through college with the University of Georgia club soccer team (now Varsity). She ran several 5Ks and 10Ks in the 90‘s. She ran her first marathon, The Marine Corps Marathon, in 1997 and most recently ran Big Sur Half Marathon, November 2010, Patriot Festival Go an Extra Mile 5K in Charlotte, NC on May 30, 2011 and 2013, and as a Babes with Brains team member in the SouthEastern Brain Tumor 5K in July, 2011 and 2013 in Atlanta.

After graduating college with a Degree in Journalism with a double minor in Political Science and Business, she sold life, disability and health insurance with Northwestern Mutual to individuals and business, and later led an exciting career with e-centives, Inc. as VP of Strategic Alliances. Now, in addition to working as an instructor and raising her children, she has focused on helping people in the community. She has supported ALS and Cancer research, awareness and patient services and served on the board of Girls on the Run, Inc. for 3 years. She launched care teams at her church and now serves on the member ministry team. In January 2013 she helped launch a free females workout group called FiA.

She is married and has 2 active children and a Gordon Setter (who loves to run at least 6 miles a day).
