We met in the 70+ degree humidity at Pure Barre at Reynolda Village and warmed up by heading towards the Wake Forest track. Once there, we spread out along the bleachers and did a 10 minute AMRAP of: run up the steps, 10 jump squats, lunge walk to the next aisle, run down the stairs, run over one aisle and back up. Repeat and repeat and repeat until the 10 minute timer made it’s heavenly sound to stop. It may have been the longest 10 minutes of my life!
Next up, 4 laps (1 mile) around the track – sprint the straights and walk/jog/recover on the curves.
Unfortunately we weren’t done yet – 10 more minutes of AMRAP on the bleachers – same as before. I never thought it would be so hard to lift my feet off the ground doing those jump squats!
Back to the parking lot. Over 4.5 miles and some really wobbly legs …. way too many lunges and squats to count.
