I was pumped to have the Q at Portside. The Portside Q calendar fills up as soon as it’s released so to get a spot is like winning the lottery. (And! How awesome is that?!) It was finally my turn and I knew I needed to do something a little different. I wanted them to remember me, right?! I decided it was time for charting unknown territory. Here’s what went down:

Warm Up: Chowda coming in hot at 5:14 – just enough time to plant the flag while giving the disclaimer. Right into 5 burpees, 15 boot strappers, 20 mt. climbers. And! We’re off…

Indian Run to the Baseball Fields. Direction was to to run straight (yes, I didn’t tell you exactly where we were going on purpose. Wasn’t it better being a mystery?!)

Upon arrival of the Field of Dreams, Prison Break to the first U shaped wall for a circuit workout. There are 4 U shaped walls surrounding the Baseball Hut. Directions were to complete an exercise at each U shaped wall running between the walls, going around 3 times.

  • Wall 1 – 20 Step Ups
  • 2 – 20 Dips
  • 3 – 20 Decline Push Ups
  • 4 – 20 1 Leg Bench Sits
  • Lunge to the bleachers – 20 Flutter Kicks

Plank Up/Downs while waiting for everyone to finish their reps before moseying back.

Pit Stop at the Skate Park parking lot for a Sprint Relay. Divide into two teams. Take turns sprinting from parking bump to parking bump. Team 2 won! But everyone gave it their all and that’s what counts!

Mosey back to the flag for Mary:

30 (p/s) American Hammers right into a 1 minute Plank. We did this twice, alternating high plank to low plank.

Oh! But we were not done. There’s still some time left. Just when the PAX were starting to relax and enjoy some Mary…

For 5 minutes, rotating through, as fast as can, complete:

  • 5 Squats
  • 5 Jump Squats
  • 5 Burpees
  • 5 Push Ups
  • 5 Heels to Heaven

We did this for 3 minutes and I wasn’t complaining that time ran out.

COT: I know I was joking today that I like to go to the very last minute and then peace out, but seriously, I love and respect the COT time. It’s not often that we get to take a quick moment to breathe and reflect on something going on in our society, something motivating, or listen to one of our FiA sisters thoughts or issues.

With our 1 year anniversary happening this weekend, I’ve been reflecting on the past year. WOW! We have all accomplished so much, whether we just joined or were the first people to hit the field. I am so honored to be a part of this group. Thank you!

Swiss Miss – Umm…pretty sure there were flames coming off of your sneakers during the sprint relay.

Taxi – I don’t know what you were talking about having short leg problems –  you stepped it up.

Dixie and Belle – Channeling your inner teenagers.

Pinky – Way to power through the Indian Run!

Snooze – Wish I was able to chat with you this morning and get to know you a little more. Next time!

Checker – Great mosey back!

Battle – Solid work all around.

Rico – Double high fives (for your ambition, but mostly for your awesome pronunciation of Rico)

Gator – Great improvement! Thanks for sharing your mat during the planks.
