Tomato Soup

  • When: 11/15/2017
  • Q: Papyrus
  • Pax: Smores, Grand Slam, Stitch, Rocker--Respect!, Metro

So you have all heard the Pandora commercial “Shiiirttt, Shirt Shirt Shirt Shirt Shirt (tomato soup)”, advertising a laundry detergent?!  (I can tell you the words to the jingle, but not the detergent brand…) Yeah, you know what I am talking about. Well that seems to play all.the.time. at our workouts and Smores hates the commercial so it’s always fun to see her reaction.  Anyways, I am not creative enough to come up with a real title for the backblast so there you have it, tomato soup. Grand Slam and Stitch led the way with the running so they got to do extra planks at the end. Unlucky for Metro–as we started our first lap she told the group that she had prayed we wouldn’t do a lot of running–womp womp. And congrats to Rocker as she completed her 100,000 step [in one day] badge on Fitbit on Saturday!! But back to the workout. The mumble chatter was there while we were running our laps and had a little less while we did our rounds of exercises. More power to all of you who can count and talk at the same time. I can still hardly count in cadence out loud, much less talk and count to myself! Here’s how it went.

Warm up:

  • 15 JJ IC (in cadence)
  • 10 high knees IC
  • 10 toy soldiers IC

The Thang:

AMRAP (we did 4 laps and 2 rounds of each set of exercises)

Lap around the parking lot between each set of exercises, work at your own rate

Set 1

  • 25 Leg raises
  • 25 Cicep curls
  • 25 Overhead tricep press
  • 25 V-ups
  • 25 Superwomans

Set 2

  • 25 Chest press while holding a glute bridge
  • 25 Upright rows
  • 25 Donkey kicks each side
  • 25 Superwomans
  • 25 Raggedy Ann’s

With about 5 minutes left we did a series of planks–regular (1 minute), each side (30 seconds), then back to regular (1 minute)

Our sermons at church have been so applicable lately. This Sunday our Pastor spoke on doing well and work and giving it your all. Doing your work for God, not yourself or your boss. I have been incredibly busy at work lately so this was really needed, knowing that I am working because God put me there. I need to be more efficient to show my love for Him while at work.
