It was already pretty hot and humid before we even began – but beautiful and sunny – and I couldn’t ask for any better way to kickstart my 34th birthday! I felt so grateful for all the Pax who came out and gave it their all! Everyone worked hard and really pushed themselves ;)! We also enjoyed the challenge of young Short Stick lapping us all through the rounds.
Warm up: From one island in the parking lot to the next island:
Ran to ropes course shelter
The Thang: Square of Despair
Here is what was at each base:
We didn’t quite have time to finish the last round but everyone pushed hard!
Ran back to parking lot for CoT and devotional. We got to name our young FNG Short Stick for her love of lacrosse.
Encouragement: Psalm 139
I love the entire Psalm, especially on birthdays because it highlights the importance of every person in that each of us is made with 100% intention. Verse 14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Verse 16: “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Celebrating life on birthdays is an act of praising God for His creation and for the intentional way he knit all of us together as we grew in our mothers’ womb. Cheers to that!
