Rain or Shine

As I sit here to write this, I realize we never did name-o-rama! Whoops!

Anyway, with rain in the forecast a shelter workout was planned. Five ladies posted roughly on time. YHC showed up with just about a minute to spare bc I left my Q notes on the table at home and had to go back for them! We gathered under the shelter with our weights and mats to do a different kind of work out than Mary Lou is used to Qing.

After a quick warm-up of power jacks, high knees, but kickers, forward and backward small and large arm circles, and some stretching, we got down to it.

The Thang:

Stations: We did five stations one minute at each station, two rounds.

1. Left – right step ups with weights. Raise the weight over your head at the top.

2. Bent over left and right tricep extensions, switch at 30 seconds.

3. Wall sit with weight. For extra credit lift the weight over your head.

4. Toe taps on the bench.

5. Rock your body with 12 pound weight.

Booty Burners: done on hands and knees- series of 4 exercises for 30 seconds each then switch to the other side.

-single leg donkey kick

-hold same leg bent up at 90* and pulse up from horizontal

-keeping knee bent swing out to side like you’re a dog peeing on a tree

-keeping leg bent out to the side extend leg straight out so it is horizontal to the ground then bend back again. In and out.

Ladder: 10-15-20-25-30

manmakers (with weights), inchworm pushups, shoulder taps, seal jacks, mountain climbers

Lastly a Jack Webb’s core: 1:2 ratio of Superman/sprinter abs up to 10/20. Killer!

Thanks for coming out on what could have been an easy day to stay under the covers! You did something great for your body and mind!

Today my husband and I are celebrating 10 years of marriage. During our timed exercises it was fun learning more about each other as we answered the following questions: how long have you been married? What is one memory (good or bad) that sticks out from your wedding day? What is one piece of advice you would give to your newly married self? Where did you go on your honeymoon? We also learned that cream colored bridesmaids dresses might not be the best choice for your fair haired friends…and we all agree that resolving conflict faster with our husbands is oh so helpful and something we would all have benefited from learning early on!

Thanks again for a fun morning, ladies!
