Hickory Back-Blast 12/13/17 – SALT Block
The forecast promised a frigid morning for FiA (25 degrees!), but I thought as long as we kept moving we would be ok! So here’s what we did to try to stay warm and get in a good workout!
Jogged 1 lap around SALT Block
Stopped @ benches by the science center for 10 push-ups and 10 step-ups on the bench
Moseyed over to the FUMC parking lot for The Thang:
3 Rounds of 2 Exercises– Completed 10 reps of the first exercise, then ran to the opposite end of the parking lot to complete 1 rep of the second exercise. Continued running back and forth counting down on the first exercise (10, 9, 8…) and counting up on the second exercise until getting down to 1 of the first exercise and up to 10 of the second. Then moved on to the next round.
Round 1 – Push-Ups & Imperial Squat Walkers
Round 2 – Bicep Curls & Boat-Canoes
Round 3 – Lunges (L + R = 1) & Flutter Kicks (L + R = 1)
About halfway through the workout (while my buns were getting frozen to the ground doing boat-canoes) I could only envision the scene from Christmas Vacation where the family is trekking through the waist-deep snow to find a Christmas tree. Poor Audrey gets completely frozen and stands there with teeth chattering while Clark says, “Ah, it’s all part of the experience, honey!”
We didn’t have quite enough time to make it through the whole last round, but we never stopped moving and since we obviously didn’t need to do name-o-rama we posed for a quick selfie to capture our frozen smiles! 🙂
