Hickory BackBlast 12/29/17

I have always felt safe during our early AM FiA workouts in Hickory, but I realized last night that working out alone in the dark at 5:30 AM sounded a little sketchy….so my sweet husband volunteered to come with me this morning when I voiced my concern that I was afraid no one was going to show up to workout (0 HCs on Facebook + 18 degree weather = probably 0 Pax). As the clock hit 5:30 we looked around the empty parking lot…I thought seriously about saying let’s just go back home and go to bed, but he had been nice enough to join me so we hopped out of the car and began to warm-up.

Warm-Up:

20 Jumping Jacks

10 Cherry Pickers

10 Toy Soldiers

Just as we were wrapping up and I was about to start the workout, headlights appeared! Thimble had overslept but still managed to make it! At this point, Doc excused himself to go run on his own so we could do our FiA Thang…

The Thang:

Run 1 lap around SALT Block (I tracked it at 0.56 mi/lap)

Burpees x10

Run 1 lap around SALT Block

Jumping Lunges x20 (R + L = 2)

Run 1 lap around SALT Block

Imperial Walkers x30 (R + L = 2)

Run 1 lap around SALT Block

Peter Parkers x40 (R + L = 2)

We still had time to spare, so we started back over at the beginning and kept going until time was up!

Quick cool-down/stretch and Quote of the Day: “There is no dishonor in losing the race…There is only dishonor in not racing because you are afraid to lose.” – Garth Stein, The Art of Racing in the Rain

Thanks for joining me, Thimble! And a shout out to F3 Doc McStuffins for being our Bodyguard on this dark, cold morning!
