Misty Mornin Workout

  • When: 10/06/2018
  • Q: Mary Lou
  • Pax: Van Gogh (Respect), SUP, Zeppelin, Do-Re-Mi (FNG Bethany)

When you get a text 30 minutes prior to the workout from a FiA sister commenting on the downpour at her house you start to worry that no one will show up for a rainy morning workout. Thankfully, the heavy showers seemed to be isolated and Moneypenny was mostly just misty this morning. With a Triple Down and a Roanoke launch happening this weekend numbers were slim but  4 other ladies showed up to sweat it out with me this morning. Thanks! And a warm welcome to Do-Re-Mi our FNG this morning!

We warmed up with active stretching during a jog around the parking lot while I called out the disclaimer (so hard to remember this part!). It included high knees, butt kicks, skips and side shuffles. We circled up for some good mornings, hillbillies with a squat, toy soldiers, arm circles (IC).

The Thang:

  1. Lt. Dans–lunge, lunge, squat, push up. We did this from the middle island to the end of the parking lot and back.
  2. Jog to the ropes course shelter and realize there’s some baseball tournament going on so mosey over to the shelter by the boat house for a half Dora: derkins, l/r step ups and dips. Jogged the loop from the shelter down the path and back to the shelter.
  3. Mosey back to the senior center for 5 Bropees (burpee with a high five to your partner at the top of the jump) with a bear crawl around the island. Repeat 5 Bropees with a duck walk around the same island.
  4. Abs: crunchy frogs (25), LBCs (30) and squat hold with elbow to knee to 20 IC.

In total, we clocked just over 2 miles, which was a little surprising to me b/c I had intentionally planned not to do much running b/c my pregnant belly doesn’t like it much these days! Props to Do-Re-Mi for doing more exercise and running the farthest she ever has in her life today! Woo! Also, thanks SUP for keeping it awkward all day! And Van Gogh and I were still feeling Cannonball’s workout from Thursday so those lunges, squats, push-ups and dang duck walks were extra challenging today!

COT and name-o-rama.

Closed in prayer remembering Peachtree in Roanoke, any and all doing the Triple Down and a special prayer for healing for Fullback’s daughter (Short Stick) and also Miller’s daughter.

Thank you for coming out today, ladies! It’s always a pleasure working out with you!

Mary Lou
