March Madness or just sheer Madness?

I’m definitely a “fairweather” sports fan, but that’s not holding me back from showing my GAMECOCK pride here in New Orleans. Since South Carolina has BOTH the men’s and women’s teams in the Final Four, I had to theme today’s workout appropriately.

The PAX were skeptical about just how “mad” this “madness” was going to be. It was appropriately tough…even though the mumble (grumble) chatter may have included “Are you trying to kill me?”.

Well Ladies, we did it and no one got hurt.

Here’s what we did…


4 Conferences (Run 4 Corners)

  • North: Good Mornings
  • South: Toy Soliders
  • East: Plank Walkouts
  • West: Side Lunge Stretch


Sweet 16:

-Tabatas 30/10 x4

  • Jump Lunges
  • Russian Kicks (UGH)
  • Plank Taps
  • Skaters

Elite 8

– Tabatas 30/10 x4

  • Burpees
  • Traveling Pushups

Final 4

  • 4 “Backboard Taps”
    • Sprint walkway and jump up as high as you can at the end, jog back


  • 74-69 is my predicted Final Score (USC-UNC)
    • 74 Crunches
    • 69 Squats

I like the challenge of getting players to rise to certain levels but that’s the easy part. The biggest challenge is to get them to believe in what we’re doing. They have to understand that it is OK to have GOOD DAY AND BAD DAYS. –Dawn Staley (USC Women’s Basketball Coach)
