It’s a NEW year, so why FiA?

  • When: 01/04/2016
  • Q: Sike!
  • Pax: All Pax Welcome!

Can you believe it?!?  It’s a whole new year, full of opportunities, challenges, changes yet to come and much more! And what a better way to start the new year with FiA in Rock Hill than to watch it grow!  So, starting this coming Monday, January 4th we will be adding a weekday workout at 5:15 a.m, meeting at Oakland Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. (496 Park Avenue, Rock Hill SC)

I know a lot of you may be on the fence as to whether or not you want to show up.  Will there too much running?  What if I can’t keep up?  Trust me, I have had all of those “what if’s” going through my head several times!  I started coming to FiA about a year and half ago because my crazy husband was in F3 and he kept trying to get me to give FiA a try.  So, after weeks of ignoring him, I basically showed up to a workout to prove to him that I would hate it! Well…you see how that went!  Was it hard?  Yes–I did things I never thought I could do!  But that’s just it, I did things I never thought I could do!  We are ALL so much stronger than we give ourselves credit for!  Did I keep up?  No–but that group of women NEVER left me behind, they stayed with me, they encouraged me, they showed me ways to modify things to my ability!

So, why FiA?  Why not another group or gym membership?  I can’t say what’s best for anybody, I did the gym membership thing for YEARS and I thank God everyday for the instructors that pushed me and challenged me, but for me personally, I never really connected with any of the other women in the class.  I showed up, worked out and left.  Since starting FiA, I show up, I workout, and I leave with a group of ladies that have my back.  After coming to just a few workouts, I stopped coming as my grandfather was sick.  And what happened?  One of those wonderful women reached out to me to say, “hey we miss you!”.  After explaining to her what was going on, she offered to help in any way she could, even watch my kids!  And now a year and a half later, I have friends that push me out of my comfort zone,  inspire me to help push others and have given me more confidence and faith in myself than I ever thought possible.  I NEVER thought in a million years that I would ever lead a workout–I guess we should never say never! And hey, it’s FREE!

Philipians 1:6 states “Be confident of this, He who has begun a good work in you will complete it”.  We are all a work in progress, and I can’t imagine facing those challenges, or reaching those goals with any other group!  So I challenge you to give FiA a chance, let us show you what it’s about.  It’s more than a workout!
