Elevens on 11/11 for our Veterans

  • When: 11/11/2017
  • Q: Papyrus
  • Pax: Smores, Tennessee Walker, Buckeye, Rocker-respect!, Braveheart, Zin

As we all know 11/11 is Veterans Day. Hampton Roads has a huge population of active duty military and veterans. My hope in this workout was to honor those who served, are currently serving, and their families with the theme of the workout (at least the first half). This was the first really cold workout for our group that I know of so we had to keep moving. I was glad to be shedding layers about midway through the workout and glad to see everyone warming up by the end of it.

Warm Up:

  • Movement of some sort (JJ, jump rope, etc while I explained how the workout would go)
  • Lap around the parking lot

The Thang:

Elevens–spread across two tennis courts, we did one exercise on each end with the sum of the reps being 11

  • World War II Sit ups/Military Press (shoulder press since we didn’t have a good bench to use)
  • American Hammers (some might call these Russian Twists)/Merkins (aka pushups)
  • Renegade Rows/Bicycles

Eleven of each exercise, twice through the entire round

  • Lieutenant Dan’s (lunges on the second round for time’s sake)
  • Diamond Pushups
  • V-ups
  • Crockpot Squats
  • Carolina Dry Docks
  • Leg Raises
  • Squat to Calf Raise
  • Bicep Curls
  • Crunches

COT:

A Prayer for Veterans (thank you Pinterest). Thank you to all of our Veterans, Active Duty and their families. John 15:13 “Greater love has not one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” Prayer
