Can’t Mountain Monday? Take the Stairway to H-E-Double Hockey Sticks.

Stairway to Hell is the lovechild of me wanting to do a Mountain Monday workout and me noting that’s just too dark in the back to be running up and down the hill. So when you can’t go to the mountain, you find the next best thing: the stairs to the gym. Add a FULL BODY workout and you’ve got: Stairway to Hell.

Warm Up

  • 25 jumping jacks
  • 25 buttkickers
  • 25 jump rope
  • 20 arm circles forward and backward

 

1 minute of each; stairs not timed. Repeat twice.*

  1. burpees
  2. push-ups
  3. run up and down stairs (lower impact option is a strong march in place)
  4. frog jumps
  5. plank
  6. run up and down stairs
  7. forward lunges
  8. backward lunges
  9. run up and down stairs
  10. jump squats
  11. squats (your choice)
  12. run up and down stairs
  13. deadlift right
  14. deadlift left
  15. run up and down stairs
  16. squats (15 sec pulse, 30 regular, 15 sec pulse)
  17. push ups
  18. run up and down stairs
  19. burpees
  20. plank taps

 

Ab Roulette — 1 minute each

  • Flutter kicks
  • Crunches
  • Russian twists
  • Situps

We tried to get two full sets in but only made it through deadlifts the second time. I don’t think anyone minded.
