6 ladies met up to go on a beverage hop of downtown. Unlike the bar hops of youth, there was no drinking done as none of these establishments were open at 5:15 am – a real shame as it would have made the run much more of a challenge! We started out around Hanes Park to stop #1, West End Opera House. 20 lunges, 15 tricep dips, 20 lunges (10 each leg) and 15 Raggedy Anns. While doing our exercises. Bulldawg requested some facts – all I know is it’s not actually an opera house anymore and membership is required. Off to our next location, we turned right on West End then right on Summit Street. Ran UP, UP, UP Summit to 6th Street, turned left on 6th then right on Liberty Street. Stop #2 was Reboot Arcade Bar, repeated exercises. Off we go, down Liberty, left on 3rd Street to Krankies Coffee, stop #3. Repeat exercises. Turn left onto Patterson and gaze at the beautiful new medical school and glowing Innovation Quarter. Turn left onto 4th Street until stop #4, Tate’s Craft Cocktails which has some great outdoor seating. Here with did 20 step ups, 10 each leg on some mighty high benches. Back on the road to get people back to the cars on time – down 4th Street, bear left onto Burke Street to stop #5, Burke Street Pub. Repeated initial exercises (squats, etc). Continue down Burke Street which turns into 1st Street and stop at the Quiet Pint, #6 and final stop. Quiet Pint redid their parking lot yesterday so we took advantage of the clean cement bumpers and did 15 incline pushups and 20 calf raises. From here, we turned right onto Hawthorne and headed back to the parking lot – some went to the right on Glade to make it back before 6:15 and some continued on Hawthorne and did the loop back around to the lot. Everyone should have gotten in somewhere between 4.5 and 5.5 miles depending on your loops at the end. Thanks for joining me to explore some new areas downtown!
