And so launches FiA Knoxville…with a little Thunder & Lightning!

It was a beautiful morning for the FINAL LAUNCH Saturday for FiA Knoxville. YHC was visiting with 2 sisters from the FiA NeTN region as we passed down the (newly decided) Tennessee tradition of launching all our regions with a little THUNDER AND LIGHTNING! This is a killer workout that was given to us at our launch courtesy of Thunderstruck from Spruce Pine FiA. FIA Knoxville meets in a beautiful open chapel at a local park. You could not pick a more stunning spot to celebrate the body you are given and the sisterhood of FiA

DISCLAIMER – you know the drill! It’s you against you, it’s the workout  you make for yourself, be careful, listen to your body, look at the natural environment, we are NOT PROFESSIONALS. If you do something silly and hurt yourself – it’s on you so listen to your body and ask for modifications!

THE THANG

The thunder part of this workout is the long stretches of exercise reps. The lightning is the burpees in between. Simple and yet oh so painful.

100 – Sumo Squats
 – 10 burpees-
90 – Mountain Climbers (each leg counts as 1)
 – 10 burpees-
80 – Curtsey lunges (each leg counts as 1 – so 40 on each leg)
 – 10 burpees-
70 – Flutter kicks (right leg counts as 1 – standard is no more than 6 inches off the ground)
 – 10 burpees-
60 – Tricep dips
 – 10 burpees-
50 – Rosalita
 – 10 burpees-
40 – Shoulder Taps
 – 10 burpees-
30 – sit ups
 – 10 burpees-
20 – Angle Grinders.  (Each set of 8 count movement counts as 1)
 – 10 burpees-
10  – Superwomans
 – 10 burpees-
AAAANNNNDDD…we rounded out with a little Sally set to the song “Flower” by Moby. Done to squats.
THE SKINNY:
YHC read a saying that summed up a lot of where my mind has been as of lately… “Crawling is acceptable. Falling is acceptable. Puking is acceptable. Crying is acceptable. Blood is acceptable. Pain is acceptable. QUITTING IS NOT.” There are a lot of different ways you can think through this. Most recently we have seen alot of news coverage of celebrity suicides and that certainly resonates. However, it is not just celebrities that struggle with day to day life, with maintaining a balance, staying on the beam. We all, at one point or another, will struggle in some way. Maybe it is not as serious as suicide but maybe it is. Maybe it’s just a struggle to come to a workout, get your kid to get off that video game, figure out how to not binge eat,  go to that counseling session, or maybe attend that 12 step program you need to do. Whatever the struggle, IT IS REAL and it is yours. But, now that you have FiA, you don’t have to shoulder the weight alone. YHC has found support, encouragement, and sisters that have lifted me up in my time of need. You don’t have to struggle alone. Crawl, fall, puke, cry, bleed, hurt, but LEAN ON YOUR SISTERHOOD. Pick up the phone. Post on the message board. DON’T QUIT. You’ve got this. And days where you don’t, that’s fine too. Your sisters have it for you.
