The Royal Wedding will be a common theme for FiANation, but Hampton Roads took their own spin on the special event. We traveled down the aisle, knighted each other (okay so that wasn’t part of the Royal Wedding, but it’s English at least), we took a carriage ride, attended breakfast (twice) and danced the workout away. Themes and creativity are not typical for me, but this was a special occasion. (It also gave me an excuse to watch the pre-shows!) So here’s how it went:
10 Toy Soldiers In Cadence (IC)
10 Jumping Jacks IC
10 Windmills IC
First we had to go down the aisle. We did this set of exercises in partners. One partner did the traveling exercise while the other did the stationary exercise. When the traveling partner got back, they switched.
Walking Lunges down and back/Weighted Curtsy Lunges
Sprint down and back/Squat, curl, shoulder press
Skip down and back/Good Mornings with weights
Grapevine (some call it karaoke) down and back/Squat with weighted front raise
Repeat the entire set
We stayed in partners for the next exercise. We knighted each other by facing each other in a plank position. Each partner lifts their right arm and touches their partner’s left shoulder. Repeat with the left arm. Do this 10 times for each arm.
We took our carriage ride around town up to the Palace (okay so it was just a run around the parking lot back to our mats, but we can dream).
The Royal Breakfast came next. Proper English etiquette says that when the Queen is finished with her food, all plates are cleared whether you like it or not. Thanks to Rocker and Tennessee Walker, we had tiaras to designate the Queen at any given time. The Queen was tasked with 15 burpees while the rest of the PAX did another exercise. When the queen was finished, the tiara was passed to the next PAX to become Queen and the rest of the PAX moved to the next exercise. We did this twice, but changed up the exercises the second time around. I am only listing the first set of exercises. We also changed up the Queen’s exercise the second time around from burpees to deadlifts with an upright row.
Side plank hold (add dips for an extra challenge) each side during separate Queen reigns
Bent over rows
After breakfast we danced. We did 1 minute of exercise with 20 seconds of rest in between. Exercises as follows:
Criss cross squats
Lunge pulses each side
