36s and Partners

A big thank you to the three other women that showed up to celebrate my birthday Q! My birthday isn’t technically until Monday but we don’t have a Monday AO for me to commandeer so Moneypenny was it!

In honor of my twin sister and me turning 36, this workout consisted of reps of multiples of 36, 3:6s and some twinning workouts (aka partner exercises)!

W/U: we jogged to the top of the trail behind the community center for HK, BK, & Fast Knee IC. We did 5 burpees OYO (minus the push-up) and then 10 good mornings.

The Thang:

  • 6s at the wooden steps in the woods: spiderman merkins/jump lunges
  • Playground Partners:
    • One person does derkins x18 while partner does swing push w/ arms (until other partner finishes derkins).  Two sets. Total: 36 derkins
    • One person does merkins against the bench x18 while partner does swing push w/ legs (until partner finishes merkins). Two sets. Total: 36 merkins
  • 6s at the hill: Reverse push-ups on the dip bar/Brooke Burkes
  • Big Field Partners:
    • Plank Squat Jumps 3×12–one person holds plank position, partner does a squat then jumps over planker’s legs, back and forth for 12. Total: 36 squat jumps
  • 6s at the lake stairs: V-ups/Rocket Jumps

And thus our time was up. We headed back to the senior center for COT and some high fives for completing a hilly, run-filled workout on a 20* day.

The Skinny:

-I had 3 more things planned that we just didn’t get to.

-Poor Teatree can’t catch a cold weather break.  Always showing up for the workouts in sub freezing temperatures! But she never complains!

-Derkins and party hats don’t mix. Oops!

-We clocked 3.26 miles today!

It’s always a pleasure to workout with you gals. Thanks for making my birthday Q more fun because I did it with you!
