Two very important people in my life had birthdays this week. My husband turned 27 and my mom turned 60. So today those 2 numbers were incorporated into the workout. 5 of us showed up early for an extra credit, 3 mile run to help us in training for the Colonial 70 relay. That sparked quite the mumble chatter once the official workout began. It got quiet a few times and I knew everyone was working hard. I was glad to get to start off my weekend with my FiA sisters and celebrate 6 months of FiA in Hampton Roads! So here’s how it went.

Warm up:

The Thang:

We did 27 reps of an exercise then 60 seconds on another. This was the pattern for the whole workout. We repeated each set of exercises twice except the last set due to time.

27-v ups
60-high knees
27-bicep curls
60-imperial walkers
27-squat to shoulder press
60-hollowman hold/superwoman hold on the second round

27-jump squats
60-butt kickers
27-Carolina dry docks
27-chest flies in glute bridge

27-scissor kicks
27-tricep press
60-mountain climbers
60-Raggedy Ann’s

27-side lunge with arm raise
60-plank jacks
27-leg lifts
60-left side plank
27-wide arm push ups
60-right side plank

2 laps around the tennis courts and finished with 27 squats.


Proverbs 16:9 “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” I have had my own plan this week and the Lord has been very clear in telling me that it is not His plan. I have been struggling with the Lord telling me no, but I know I have to trust Him and trust His will. Conclude with prayer.
